Hello, I am a normal League of legends player. Today I played a game with this comp

Our team

Top: Jax(me)
Mid: Evelynn
Bot: Twitch Nunu
Jungle: Xin Zhao


Enemy team

Top: Singed
Mid: Veigar
Bot: Tryndamere Taric
Jungle: Kha' Zix


Score: I was 1/3/1 until near end of the game, then when they just surrendered I was 3/3/3

Ok here's how it goes. I called Top/Mid at the start of the picking, Nunu wanted Top, but people urged me to play top instead.
So I picked Jax. Twitch got a early first blood because there was no ranged in bot. And he kept getting more.
Jungler never ganked top. I gave 3 kills to Singed, he had only 9 less damage than me, more armor, and had his poison thing.
I was able to dodge his poisons after the first death, and evelynn came for a gank at top lane 2 times. First she died because she failed to see Kha' Zix even with the ward I placed on the river. Second time she launched everything(including ult) on Singed near the tower, but managed to survive even with Singed's toss.
Basically, Evelynn was calling me noob for losing to Jax, Nunu kept quoting "I call top, but I forgot to I'm a noob." at me every 2 minutes, At the end of the game, Singed and Nunu stayed back and abused me continuously.
Here is my question, Is Jax a good opponent for Singed? If so, or not, please explain to me why?
Also some tips on facing Singed with any champion would be nice

Also is building sheen not good for Jax? I was going for TF

sheen is good, but i'd go phage first. dorans blade instead of the shield. singed can be hard for jax since he's pretty slippery, i'd play passively vs a singed early on until you get 2 dorans blades and a bilgewater cutlass. once you have that you'll have some good dps, sustain, and a slow

Whenever I see the enemy team pick Jax, I always counter pick with a Singed pick.
It can go either way really.

Singed is stronger 1-4
Jax is stronger from 5-7/9
And then it goes either way. Whoever gets a FB will probably end up pulling away from the other. Use your jungler to get an early kill by stunning him at lvl 2-3 (probably won't take glue until 4) and get the kill on him since he won't have a decent escape.
