So what do you think? I've been trying out smartcasting lately, and yeah for some champs its really helpful but for others is a hindrance, what is your most played champ and do you smartcast with them?

I smart cast everything except things like Rumble Ult/Viktor Laser beam. Basically directional stuffs.

Edit: WOW, I didn't realize so many people play smartcast without range indicators. Just go into your options and you should find the option, it's really a great change.

Smartcasting is better in literally every situation. Yes, even for summoners. Yes, even for Viktor's laser and Rumble's ult. Just yes.

After playing this game for 2-3 years (yes I know, it's sad to consider sometimes,) and about 1k normal wins, you get too used to it to go back. The speed advantage is too invaluable to me in a trade of 3-5 games of range adjustment.
