Every time I see you update this thread on my redtracker I squeel like a little girl in delight! ^_^

Also if it's not too long of a response or hassle to explain, could you provide a little bit of insight on how Riot internally tests new champions for balance. I've always just been curious.

Eventually yes, but we feel that we have plenty of semi global teleports as is for now.

1) Well, I personally want Yorick to be looked at the most, though it'll take a while to get resources devoted to him. Past that...probably a champion like Poppy. A character who we can hopefully make more fun while balancing!

2) I would say true utility/mobility abilities, especially when stacked on the same character.

3) We keep the current metagame in mind, but we always strive to balance all champions...including the ones who are not currently in the meta.

4) Haha, no global CC!!! I've had far too many aggravating experiences with that on Faceless Void in DotA (his old Global Stun...).

1) That can work on a large aoe (not global!!!), and is a potential front runner. The only reason I would be hesitant is because I really like this idea for a passive [Haste: Every time Tempus casts a spell he gets 20 Movement Speed (Max Stack: 5)], which would make him have multiple MS boosts.

2) Haha, that's pretty neat, we are looking into potential weird damaging abilities (another one is +200 damage, that is refunded after 4 seconds).

3) Too similar to Leona's blink, and has too much random chance for my taste =-P.

That pretty much removes any choice in itemization (ALWAYS GO AP). He is also already a super tanky man even when he doesn't get any tanking itemization. I don't know how this would help his character become more fun/interesting other than just giving him straight power.

Ummm, jack in the box is potentially one of the most brokenly powerful abilities in the game. I'm afraid I don't see buffs coming to it in the near future.

You could say it can backfire but imo is the same as anivia's wall.
Toss is a very difficult ability to get used to using, in part because it is conceptually difficult to grasp. I can see adding an ability like this, but we would likely find a cleaner way of implementing it. Oh, and you probably won't be able to use it on allies. I remember throwing allies into the firebush at the end of the game with Tiny in Dota =-P.

Besides, i like new mechanics as well as time based abilities, so why not have both?
4) Some form of clones attacking / casting with him is a potential for this champion.
5) We considered that in a different implementation, though an ammo system is pretty crazy go nuts and would require toning down all of his abilities to an unfun level =-P.
6) Not sure if fun. Unusable if there are no other champs around.
7) Yea, this would be similar to #4.
8) The first one is too difficult to implement and would be confusing to players (though cool in concept). The second one is just a different version of Warwicks ultimate.

Perhaps some day, but DoTs are inherently less fun due to them being less impactful. They also generally require more power for this reason, which makes them difficult to balance.

HoTs are more difficult to do, but they are definitely doable. The % health missing is a good one. And I could also see an ability which is either a HoT or a DoT depending on the target.

ezreal i heard guinsoo was looking into vlad.. when are you going to be buffing him? isnt 16 nerfs enough for one champion especially the last one that destroyed him because of forum QQ .. seriously he loses mid to every champion in the game i would go as far to say he is the worst champion in the game maybe next to sivir. much apprectiated

@Ezreal How do you feel about champions having different stats depending on the map they are on? Such as mundo. If a player selects mundo for summoners rift, he has increased stats compared to playing him on twisted treeline.

This prevents the need for balancing mundo for twisted treeline while trying to keep him viable on rift.

Example Mundo has 100 health on Twisted Treeline, but he has 200 health on Summoners Rift.


Also, what do you think about giving Sivir "temporary" buffs while we wait for her rework? Let her dodge while standing still, and make the damage reduction on her Q only apply to minions, you can even reduce the mana costs of her skills a bit.

Alright went through all the pages to make sure this question hadn't been asked (hopefully I didn't skim over it).

Outta sheer curiosity, why did Ezreal wind up being the one named... well Ezreal?

I mean, out of all the champs you've made, why him? (not that I'm complaining or anything)

P.S.- Props to you for actually reading all those posts and answering them! I've never seen a game designer with more dedication to the community. You've gained my respect. Keep on being AWESOME!

Hey Ezreal, i would like to hear your opinion on a idea for heimer. Taken from this thread from a friend of mine

Did anyone at Riot ever consider adding a decaying rate of heimers turrets, while allowing him to stack up to four-five "just more then 2" turret at once? Of course keep the turret limit to two on the field at once. Just on the decay thing, i would suggest not to use a decay system like Yorick, but more of a decay system like say Shaco's jitb or Teemo's shrooms.

I really strongly feel something like this should be test and put in the PBE "because i am in it and would love to try heimer with a mechanic like this". That aside, i feel this would remove the passive gameplay he has with his turrets, while giving him a more powerful presents in team fights. I know he is very powerful right now in dominion and somewhat lackluster in SR, but i really feel something like this is need and may help him.

ps. i fully support this even if you have to lower is damage a bit.

Bastet! Or Sekhmet. They were both very similar, and both titled Lady of Flames. Bastet also had the title of Eye of Ra, and Sekhmet had the titles "One Before Whom Evil Trembles," "Mistress of Dread," and "Lady of Slaughter" and were both warrior goddesses and goddesses of healing.

Can you please let us know about "shifting from NA to EU"...

We are really stuck in NA since there wasn't EU in the start and then EU was overloaded with so many problems.

Please help us.
