I wanted to write you today to offer a suggestion on the current reporting systems. Currently, players can report players for what they deem to be "Offensive Language." However, this is a general term where players may have differences in opinion on what constitutes offensive language, and many reports are issued for general swear words. League of Legends features a built in language filter that players can either use or not use. For all players who have turned this feature off, this shows an acknowledgement that they are not offended by the use of swear words. For those who are offended by swear words, they can opt to leave this feature on, thus they will not be able to see the words which they feel are offensive. Eliminating the reporting feature for offensive language would benefit the League of Legends community by reducing the number of reports, unfair bans, and streamline expectations on what is acceptable within the community. The reporting category of "Verbal Abuse" would still cover players who feel that the offensive language is directed at them, but would prevent a report against players who simply say swear words in passing. Please consider this advice, as I feel it would benefit the League of Legends community immensely, and reduce costs by reducing administrative action in response to bans. Thank you for your time.
