If you look on the right hand side, where it shows the four teams, not the two flags next to CLG's name. One of them is, in fact, the US flag. The other is the Canadian flag.

Similarly, SK-Gaming's flag on the WCG site is JUST Germany's, but they also have a Swiss player on the team, and the above site shows this fact as well.

So would you say that SK-Gaming was representing ONLY Germany even though they won the European WCG qualifying tournament? Would you say that Another Story was representing only Singapore even though they won the ROC tournament which included teams from Vietnam, the Philippines and Malaysia as well?

Furthermore, Elementz, HotshotGG and Bigfatjiji are ALL from Canada. More of the players on CLG are from Canada than USA.

or if it being called north american is such a problem i think we need to start calling them team canada. since more of the team is from canada than USA anyways.

So, CLG was team USA which represented NA while most of the players were Canadian.

If you go by the people who were running the tournament (WCG) then yes CLG was Representing Team USA.

And if any of you had been to Hotshotgg's stream before this you would of heard him talk about how its funny that CLG is representing USA even though most of CLG is mostly Canadian. It may sound stupid but thats how WCG is handling this and thats where the gold medal is going to.

Maybe next year WCG will have a Team for Canada and a Team for USA like every other game they have at WCG but this year Riot and WCG decided to have it like that.


Everyone will know that CLG are repping NA but on WCG medal count it will be USA.

CLG = USA Team that qualified through a NA pre-qualifier into a USA qualifier.


That is the way WCG is setup that is why CLG was being referred to as team USA and why SK was being referred to as Team Germany.


Overall it does not matter cause we all know where each member in each team is from. They agreed to perform for said Team and so they were put under that banner.
