It breaks my heart every time a sale comes buy with an epic skin I , but I don't have the champion so I miss out on it....

You'd have a skin with no champion to use it what.

Yea, so you could buy the champion later on and you don't miss out on the skin sale.

I don't think it's a bad idea at all.

You see a skin for a champion that you intend to purchase soon go on sale but will not have enough time to farm the IP for the champion before the sale is gone.

You purchase the skin while it's on sale and then later purchase the champion and have the skin available.

The only answer for why it wouldn't be allowed would be because Riot wants people to impulse purchase champions with RP so that they don't miss the skin sale.

But purchasing champions with RP at FULL price is even more heartbreaking than missing out on the sale itself...
