today when i update the game it failed

For all Chinese users i just upgraded it using VPN. Tried everything before for past two days and no luck!
My VPN was always on but only for browsing,i had to adjust VPN settings to complete invisible and upgrade went just fine!
YEAH!

during 3 days i have tried all the solutions awailable.
have uninstalled and reinstalled - have done a full format and nothing.

Only way you can upgrade is with VPN.


and yes, i'm also located temporarily in china.

if need guidance let me know.

which vpn are you using? so i'm guessing the problem is the great firewall of china rather than riot's? and i don't understand why riot hasn't even taken a look at this problem yet...

Sorry for the failed fix. It worked on the exact same problem for 3 or 4 patches before. Perhaps it was the wrong folder, or perhaps the firewalls killing it. I'd love to know what VPN you guys use, since my freegate and freeU haven't worked in months.

Wouldn't it just be swell if you could download the patch as an .exe file and install it?? is that so hard?? Durrr riot

and i would play on the QQ lol but as i am a foreigner in china and do not have a Chinese id card i can't. would be nice if we could get some help with this. i have also tried many of the suggested solutions with no success.

It's been many days now and I'm not buying a vpn just to play this.
Do something riot games you've had more than enough time.

strange thing is that this issue is not on every game, as some of my friend (2 for the moment) still can play. i'll ask one of them to give me their folder to play. we are kinda alot in china to play in the us server and eu server... why riot didn't even got a look on this thread?

bump

I still can't get the patch. It will not download it it seems i have looked at the logs and from what i can tell is the patcher cannot find find the files when it asks for them from the server. and it seems that it is only the patch files are the ones it has trouble with as i have deleted the whole air folder and it patches up until it gets to the part that has files with the new character in it. after it hits that point the logs just start showing errors.

pls help those that are playing from china
