I don't really know what's so great about him. Even Nasus can do more dps with BFT+ult. Susan's utility is also way bigger, with the slow and the armor debuff.

With renek you get damage, or you get tanky, but not both. And depending on rage makes him so subpar...

Well he is Tier 1 because of the opinions that thread creator has. Besides the obvious comparing him to nasus he has better lane sustain, can push quicker, has an escape, a %armor debuff he can apply to multiple targets, and a stun.
