Hey guys. I need some opinions/questions answered involving the items an ap mid generally gets. I'm only at around 1400 elo with around 60 ranked games played (last season) but I need some help. I've been maining mid for a while now, so I generally understand how to play the role. My main problems with mid are not understanding when I should get specific items, and I need some insight on that.

First of all, I would like to talk about WoTA. I know it used to be a great item, but it underwent some nerfs and I would like to know if it is still viable. I remember the days when I would rush revolver on Cass, but seems like nobody really does that anymore. Is that still viable?

Secondly, I would like to talk about DFG. It went under HEAVY nerfs, and to me, i don't see the entire point of getting the item anymore. A mid that I've always wanted to pick up was evelynn, but is she still viable mid without the dfg? I've been reading guides and they say to pick up gunblade instead. Is this viable? Or does she still need dfg?

And please don't flame, I know I'm at 1400 elo, and I probably should know this stuff, I'm just looking for some insight from better players.

Wota is viable, especially if you have two people who could benefit from it although I do not advise rushing it.

DFG is still a good item for some burst casters such as Veigar although not everyone can do it and nearly 1 hit their opponents in lane.

WotA has pretty much been relegated to a 4th or 5th item pick if you are going to get it unless you are someone like Vlad or Mord. Even they like to sit on their Revolver rush and get some other items under their belt before upgrading. WotA is best in teams that have a double or triple AP comp. Cant say as I'd really recommend it if you've only got one person that benefits from it.

DFG mostly got nerfed in the range aspect from what I can see. It is still very viable on burst casters like Veigar or AP assassin types.

Okay, thanks for the replies. That's basically what I've been doing, just getting WoTA as my 4th or 5th item. If the team had only one person benefiting from it, would it be okay to buy a revolver for sustain in lane and sell it later?

And lastly, I know dfg is great on casters like veigar. But is eve still viable with it? Or is gunblade better? Apparently gunblade does more damage mid game when built on eve, so I don't see a reason to even get dfg on her anymore.
