Ironically, the Evolution upgrades do work. I tested this with Augment: Death, the laser did not apply the 30% after-burn. However, Evolution: Death Storm DID increase the range of the laser and the damage amplification on the ult. Also, the Evolution items do not apply the bonus like the 30% magic penetration for Evolution: Death Storm
