It seems adding anything creates server load issues.
What suggestions can we make that won't run into this problem?

I always thought riot should implement an inactivity-logout feature like other games. I know many people for example just leave league open all day long, even if they're not playing it. I think this would make more space for people actually logging on and improve queue time.
