Which is completely a false stereotype. The only reason why the French was forced to surrender was because of the fact that they still hadn't recovered from World War 1 when Germany attacked. Not to mention, even after surrendering there were a lot of French resistances still being active during German occupation

Also, America also lost to Vietnam in the Vietnam War. They couldn't and didn't accomplish their goal because of how goddam hard it is to fight in jungles vs natives to that jungle

While France did give in to Germany(because otherwise they'd all be slaughtered), the French Resistance is one of the major reasons we were able to fight back and remove the Nazi's from that territory. They struck massive blows against the Germans and their sacrifices and victories were humongous.

I can still count their victories as an Empire long before and some time after Napoleon.

I think the modern day hate comes from their refusal to back the United States invasion of the Middle East following 9-11
