So i was just watching a friend play ranked. He's currently at around 1250 elo he was playing support nami and his score was 1/4/23 and 2 of his team members start calling him a feeder and saying assists dont count.

Now let's forget he's in a supporting role. Lets look at assists in general.

You gain an assist and bonus gold by taking part in the kill even if you do not land the final blow. Lets say it takes 2 or 3 of you to bring down 1 fed enemy, only one of you can take the kill.

No matter how you look at it assists are useful on EVERY role. So if a graves for example was 3/4/19 i would hardly say he had fed or was useless, perhaps he has just being beaten to the final blow every time.

I'm sick of people this game is all about getting more kills than the other team, It's not, Its about objectives. Taking buffs, stealing their buffs, denying their jungle, Taking dragon, Taking baron pushing turrets, If they send 3 bot you know 1 lane is weaker, push it hard and so on.

any game that shows stats has this problem. people have to show their e peen somehow. you could double your whole teams damage delt, but if its not the number that everyone sees, it doesnt count.

dont know how many games there is a worthless little pissant that sits out the team fights, waits till everyone ont he enemy team is low (usually causeing your team to die by not contributing ****) then jumps in for garbage cleanup kills then proceeds to blame the rest of the team for losing the teamfights.

you just have to ignore the children and let them stroke their e peen so they can sleep better at night, hope the next game is better

For example, Darius is on your team. Score is 36 - 17.

4 people on your team have 0 kills.

Assissts: How many fights I've participated in as a team player
Kills: How many enemies I've dealt the last 1 damage to.

Well when you put it that way...

"Assists don't count? Then why does my pitiful 3/8/40 with 120 less cs have more gold than you?"

People seem to think that doing 100 dmg with an auto attack to get a kill somehow makes them more valuable than the person who drained 2000 damage only to get an assist. They need to remove the K : D : A system and replace it with points instead. Showing kills / deaths / assists only promotes noobs to think that the game is solely about who can get the most kills. Oh look I'm karthus, I just sat in base pressed R and got 4 kills. I'm suddenly so valuable for pressing one button.

Lol, assists count. ESPECIALLY as a support. Assists are better even than one person getting a solo kill because that's more gold for your team. Ideally, your score should be k>=d<a as anyone, but as a support I am pleased with how I did if k<d<a. I consider myself feeding if assists/2 is greater than my deaths.
But if that ever happens again, ask them if they'd prefer supports get the kill over the carries, cuz that's totally arrangable. Just try to ks them and see if they stop complaining about the assists.

Score tallies help suss out your allies bounties quickly and things like that, its hard to memorise what streak someones on sometimes so being able to quickly check helps. Much like enemy bounties, CS etc.

I had a Taric go 1/0/31 in one of my games. If he went 1/10/31 I would be like "I don't even care! That's what I'm talking about!"

Thankfully he was on my team

Split push with Riven while mid turned into a 4v5.

I asked if they wanted push, they turtled and poked mid, got pinged b then the same person said "push" so i went back.

Took 2nd top turret, took base turret, took inhib then starting working on a nexus turret, Xin came, baited him out but tunnel visioned and thought i had more time, as his team-mates had given up their mid push after a stand-off at base turret for ages and ported, got 3 or 4v1 ganged after flash-killing him.

Dont remember if we won, if i ported mid may have gone differently, really it was a stab in the dark at trying to sneak a victory but in reality it was just a really good push.

Edit: Think we did win and team said "Riven backdoor for the win" even though after the split push we grouped mid and won as a team, the rogue Riven strat boosted gold, seemed to entertain people and boost morale so i guess sometimes its good to take a risk, all within the confines of teamwork and setting out to win in the end. (and have fun doing so).

Its not really about scores, its about outcomes and what went down on summoners rift, stats are just the eye candy, bragging or blaming is an eyesore.
