it's not a nerf, it's a rather good buff

Now instead of her passive being 100% reliant on her having items (well basically 100% reliant)

it will gain damage as she gets items AND as she levels, meaning that she isn't as ****ed when she is behind and her passive scales better into late game as the more AD she has, the more damage her passive does (it scales higher then before)

above link is the explanation for the change

thanks a lot for explaining so pretty much its a buff for end game riven to make her strong as hell and balance her out early game

pretty much,

It's to make her late game a little stronger and to make her more forgiving for if you get behind with her, while (hopefully) not making her any more overpowering then she already is if you get a lead

****. You're right, I misread "total"

Good catch.

Her AD from 1-18 is 57-104 without items, runes or masteries, so now her passive is 8.5-10.2+0.15 from 1-5, 21.2-24.5+0.3 from 6-10, and 37.9-46.6+0.45 from 11-18. While that makes it weaker with items (especially in the laning phase), it's a good boost in base damage.

Yeah this is no nerf lol.

This is a positive change for the older Riven players who have trouble with her new lack of sustainability by hp/5. She'll be able to do more damage with her passive, and damage is what Riven is best at.

I'd say less of a buff and more of a balance. You're worse if you would have been snowballing, but better if you would be behind.

It's a buff for late game damage, but her late game damage was never that horrible to begin with as long as you didn't get completely denied from gold all game.

The reason I don't like it, is because Riven feels different from what she used to be. I played her because she was a strong laner[/jungler] who HAD to make aggressive plays to snowball or she'd fall behind. I liked the high risk/reward gameplay she promoted. Now Riot's basically saying "Screw that, play her like you would everyone else" and I find it annoying.

Doesn't really matter too much, considering I've just switched to VI. I hope the new Riven is more enjoyable for others though.

someone on reddit did the math on it

http://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflege...nd_post_patch/

there's a small range where the old passive is better with his examples

Something is wrong, his spreadsheet scales up to .5, and patch notes claim it only scales to .45.

It's a 25% nerf at level 1 from 16 to 12 with boots pots start...

*edit* see next post for a plot..
