After posting yesterday about how Elise does over 50% of max health with just her q, several people replied saying she used it more than once during the fight (not true) so I decided to run some numbers. Given Elise runs mpen marks and quints and goes 9-21-0 masteries and has Sorcerer's Shoes and a Haunting Guise, she has magic penetration equal to

Haunting Guise 15
Sorcerer's Shoes 15
Quints 6.03
Marks 7.83
Masteries 8%

which penetrates up to 47.67 MR. This means even if you start MR glyphs, if you do not have scaling MR or an MR item she will penetrate all your MR. Now assume a champ has 1400 hp by level 11 (Vlad). Elise does the fallowing damage in one combo

q 230 + 9.08% Current = 357
w 153
r
w 563 (aa in spider form with 4 spiders and w active)
q 230 + 9.08% Missing = 327

This means q by itself does 49% max health if timed correctly. If Elise has even one ap item this can easily go over 50%.

Edit: Down-voting math lol. This is why Elise is the most banned champ in the game.

Have you seen this in game yourself? If so that's really scary.

Assuming no magic resist, she needs 857 AP to do 700 damage with her human Q assuming you have 1400 HP.

Your math is wrong even assuming she uses her Q in both forms.

Even assuming you are right in the math and have just written it poorly, Annie can do 1150 damage base with 275% of her AP added on at the same level. This means she only needs 90 AP to kill you.

Technically that's 2 Qs separated by several seconds in order to properly trigger and requires substantial damage to be dealt between Qs through W or other sources for the second Q to be effective.

There's plenty of time for counter on that and she's vulnerable and has to be in melee for a good long chunk of it. Her AP scaling is so amazingly poor as to not affect it as much as you would think just looking at it at a glance.

In short, yes, she can do substantial damage with just MPen and her damage will ignore typical HP scaling, but it's going to cap out fairly easily as opposed to, say, a Veigar who just obliterates anything he touches with EWQR.
