yes but look at riots recent new champions. they essentially take roles of the older champions and just plain improve on them. leblanc comes out and overshadows every other ganker in the game. MF comes out and is better than older carries. Sona comes out and is better than every other support.

have you seen soraka played lately? no it is because sona is easier to play and just as good if not plain better. Shouldnt soraka since she is harder to play have some kind of reward over easy sona play?

Making champions stronger just because they're harder to play is the opposite of balance. If the game were designed this way, there would be no reason to learn anything but the toughest champions. In a game that's designed around champions having 4 skills and simplicity in design, that idea would be heavily flawed. Ezreal isn't THAT hard to aim with, folks.

That makes complete sense and I agree with it completely.

Leblanc is actually one of the worst assassin picks in the game after hotfix. I'd much rather have Akali, Kassadin, or Shaco on my team. Her only advantage over them is that she's scarier level 1-5 than Akali and Kassadin, but she doesn't snowball nearly as hard as they do. She can't jungle/gank like Shaco or Akali either.

MF is indeed easy to play and overpowered, but it's not like Ashe, Twitch, or Tristana are all that bad. Corki is arguably better than her now and he's very old.

Sona is better than Soraka, but it's not like Soraka was ever difficult to play.

I think they should have more potential to be better in the hands of a good player. Like Ashe is good and easy to play. But a good Miss Fortune or a good Corki should outshine her easily.

Of course not, because then you might as well just play and learn the harder champions to eventually unlock their full potential, leaving the easy characters pointless.

High skill champions should have a very slightly higher skill ceiling.

That way even if you get good at your high skill champ, the lower skilled ones are still extremely viable.

High skill champions do need their higher skill ceiling though, or else there is no reason to pick them.

Why pick a champion that is hard to play when compared to a champion that is easy to play if they have the same skill ceiling?

I'm surprised to see more yes than no. If certain champions are better than other, people with almost same skill levels won't enjoy playing. Tournaments and competition will never be fair.
