She looks like a pretty fun and interesting champ to me. While she's labeled a burst melee champ, she seems as though she has more survivability than many others. Having two abilities that heal should be helpful and if you notice in the vid, Phreak doesn't exactly have the beefiest damage gear. I'd say she's pretty beast with some lifesteal on her and AS/AD/crit. Sadly, I don't think this spotlight does her justice, but she doesn't seem like an insanely OP champ like LeBlanc was when she first came out. Once we get to play her and see how she fares in games with various builds, then we'll have a better idea. Like all champs, learning to maximize the skills as well as itemize to best exploit your opposing team will be key.

Kenshin uses Hiten Mitsurugi-ryu, which roughly translates to "Flying Heavenly Sword Style".

Hiten Style is basically "Flying Style".

I'm pleased with her skillset...most likely going to primarily build her as lifesteal/AS/AD.

I like the little summary you used to give before getting to the skills and abilities of the champions. This video just seems too rushed overall. Like you all threw it together in 15 minutes just to make sure it was out before Tuesday. And while I like to see how designers and pro players can point out their mistakes and tell us what it was they did wrong when they died, your score was pretty pathetic. Remember, you're supposed to be trying to SELL us this champion. You could have at least taken clips from games where you did very well, because all we're seeing here are deaths. Even if she's not weak we now think she is from the number of deaths you've got.

I'm a little disappointed, as some of the other posters are, about Irelia. I was praying for a break from the somewhat unbalanced champions and it seems it went too far in the other direction. Like someone else said, I'm hoping that this was just a terrible game clip and that she's more powerful than what we saw here. I'd been playing all week to save up for her, but now I'm thinking I'll wait to see what nerfs go out after this patch and decided on who to actually pick up after playing a while. And I definitely won't be getting her with RP or any of her bundles.

Good idea to get the dev's on the videos, however I would just prefer Phreak. The dev's are kinda hard to follow sometimes, mostly when they start speaking really fast. Remember you have an international audience.

I don't see what so many people are mad about.
First you were mad that her real appearance is different than the concept art, and you liked the blue better.
Irelia is from Ionia, which is based at least partly on Japan. In Japan, the color red is sacred. Thus it makes sense that Irelia would wear red rather than blue, much like Ionia Master Yi having a red outfit.
I do agree that the real Irelia shouldn't be smiling, but that could easily be fixed with a custom skin, I'm sure.

As for actual gameplay as Irelia, I'm actually happy with how she's played. I at first expected her ult to be a skillshot, and since it isn't I'm somewhat relieved. I also don't see why people are mad about hiten style. It's built in life-steal, big deal. She isn't the only champion that gains extra damage from an ability, either. Yi's Wuju Style gives a similar buff, although it isn't true damage.

Overall I like her, and I plan on playing her even if you raging idiots get her nerfed to a single pinprick of base AD. Why? Because I think she looks cool, and will be fun to play.
