Mr oh mr, where art thou?

I stack like 200 mr on gragas
(aegis, abyssal, merc treads, banshees, spirit vissage)
yet the enemy can still nuke me down to 0 health :< in a sec or 2
is it just me or does mr not work as well as i thought it should.

have you at least checked if that said nuker had magic penetration items?
skill = 15% penetration (if he had it)
haunting guise = 20 penetration
sorcerer shoes = 20 penetration
abysal scepter = -20 magic resist
void staff = 40% penetration

So your grand total 200, after percentage reduction = 90 mr - 60 from items = 30 mr

Did this clear it up for you?

Flat reduction comes before percent reduction, your math is a bit off.

pretty much this.

game is set up so that stacking mr/armor can do basically nothing because of pen.

uh let's see
vlad has:
zhonyas, lichbane, rylais, abyssal, sorc boots, warmogs,

leblanc has:
mejas, archangels, sorc , zhonyas, deathfire grasp, voidstaff

so i guess it's around a similar value but how would i counter it then?
what could i possibly do?
as i tank, i shouldnt fall like a leaf

you seriously have me believe that people are inable to tank because riot made magic pen = magic resist

This is why I run around with my full MR page on any tanky champ I play. 72 MR stacked with Banshee's Abyssal FoN and what not can easily reach 300-400 MR.

Didn't knew that. Anyhow, the point is that magic penetration is great when you see the other team stacking mr
