I want to write all the sound issues -in my opinion- that i encountered in my first day experience at this post in a list. Firstly i play DotA for 5-6 years, played HoN a few of times and playing computer games since 1991. Played nearly every game in video game history ( But no simulations,spor and race games).So i think my critical would help you improve the game. Well then,here i come ;
1 - First is first, as i read in other topics people are mad about the announcer who also made me nervous from the first sec i started playing the game. His accent is like a Russian trying to sound like a British. Not only his accent but his emphasis come in the wrong time.When someone kills someone he says " owned " like he is bored but when my champion dies,he speaks like he is happy to see i am dead :/
2 - The announcer's words and sentences are either too short or long. He says OWNED,then when a tower gets destroyed he says a long long sentence. And i also think the tower losing sounds are just unneccesary. And we need a "allies hero gets hurt" sound.
3 - The camera-sound issue : I especially realise this when we were trying to kill that snake-dragon thing. If i dont focus the camera right in the center , the sound gets lost in a heartbeat. And i realise this occurs most of the places in the game. I am already familiar with the idea and love that idea, not to hear places if you dont look. But at least the sound should get lost smoothly,not in a flash.
4 - For the last item i want to as a question : Have you ever tried to make your allies to read your chat words,and dont be able to because there is no chat "click" sound that would activate when someone writes something ? I got my beta last day and played the game about 15 times in a row without doing anything but i dont know if someone ever read my chat or i read theirs. So please add some minor click sound to chat function.
These are my first day impressions,if they help,i would test and write more in upcoming days. Hope it helps , with best regards
