I think you guys forget some of the champions from Valoran are Gods... Nothing we have could stop them... That is if you actually follow the lore.

You all fail to realize..... we may have superior technology on our own universe. But Runeterra has their own hextech that combines the use of magic and tech. They have sheilds and lasers for crying out loud! Just look at Heimerdinger and Viktor! Heimer has missles and turrets! We still lack the tech to build turrets or even Viktor's laser. Our only way of winning would be to attack using super sonic jets to bomb them

While we have superior technology (slightly arguable in many cases) they have powers that we couldn't deal with as we've had no experience against such abilities and powers before.

An example of God-like status:

Cho'Gath, for all intents and purposes is a god-like being from beyond the cosmos. He can cause hideously large spikes to erupt from the ground, given the otherworldly nature of the beast the spikes are more than likely sharp enough to rip through metal (I mean, he uses it against armored champions, after all). He can emit a screech that would more than likely rupture eardrums and stun us, he fires off a fusillade of the same spikes he shoots out of the ground. For every person he kills he regains life and if he devours a person he becomes larger and tougher.

And these are with League restrictions.

An example of demigod-like status:

Nasus, he can severely age a person to the point of infirmity, he can empower his weapon for every person he kills with it, he can cause the ground to become desecrated and basically kill people as they cross over it and reduce the armor of enemies as well, and finally he can become almost a god with a swirling sandstorm of death surrounding him.

An example of superhuman status:

Xin Zhao, though he's a regular person he single-handedly took on at least 50 soldiers by one point before the Noxians decided to throw 300 men at him to kill him. Ignoring his abilities alone, he's an extremely powerful example of humanity on Valoran and is not alone, as the other human fighters in the League are of comparable, or greater, ability.

An example of magic:

Swain can turn into a gigantic, demonic raven that sends out lesser ravens to devour the flesh of his enemies and heal himself as he wades through a battle blasting enemies with more magic than can be believed.

And then to summoners, we don't even know the extent of their magic. If they can control beings like Brand and Nocturne (which would be released in an all-out war between the planets), then I'm sure they know magical forces that can shield their armies from anything in our arsenal.

If there was a war between earth and runeterra, runeterra would probably win.
Here's why.

although our technology is superior, we cannot possible manage to fight againest such a powerful force, summoners have been shown to display incredible weapons, time stoppers, chemical weapons, necromancy...

The have the power to heal completely, to bring back from the dead, not to mention an infinite energy supply, we havent reached even complete recovery yet, there are some things even our most advanced technologies cannot hope to compete againest, magic.

our weapons would be nigh useless, when they see our weapons they would probably freeze them in time, our ICM's would be useless. and that's only if they even get to that point.
Runeterrians have the greatest assassins in the world, to say that we would be sabotaged would be an understatement.

The mere fact that the enemy could use magic would severely cripple global morale.

The league of legends contain the most powerful being in the world, they actually have to regulate powers via magic in order to keep power "fair". beings such as brand and xerath and karthus to name a few, actually cant die, and have incredibly destructive magics, imagine if the league unleashed their true potential we would be obliterated...

Our nukes may annihilate them if they actually reach that point, it doesn't matter if summoners open up a portal and send it back to us.... or freeze it.... in time.

we may have the numbers, but they have the power, and that's all that matters.

If we are discussing what would most likely happen if Runneterrans invaded Earth:

Runeterrans would win. End of discussion. They would most likely start by sending scouts, potentially invisible or just disguised to infiltrate our entire comunity/whatever. They would try to get important positions, which isn't that hard to since they have potentially superior intellect and power (Read: Magic)
If they are sure they can take us on after this, they would probably open up portals around the world. at places such as the pentagon and Brussels. Before humanity even realises what happened they would probably have taken over most important places via magical assault, infiltration or just old-school fighting. Should the military be deployed, many of the champions can easily kill whole armies on their own.
Even if we should use long range weapons, such as artilleries and tanks, or try to bomb them or something the like, they would probably kill whatever hostages they took, or just generate a shield or whatever with the power some champpions have, like Zilean or just general Nexus-magic.
They would easily be able to get the power on Earth. Humanty's best tactic from then would be guerilla warfare, trying to get some small victories. They could even potentially try to spread disease amongst the Runeterrans, since they come from another world. Even so, most resistance would probably get wiped quickly, with both people getting killed and joining them, seeing the oppertunities of magical energy.
Even if that didn't happen, beings such as Cho'Gath or Brand could still easily kill the entire population of whole countries in a small timeframe.

If we are talking conventional battlefield tactics: Earth.

Our long-range weaponry and air-support would easily outclass anything they could throw at us.

Could anyone imagine Xerath/Brand showing us their true power? *shudders*
EDIT: I bet Xerath could one-shot America while still in Runeterra anyway. DAT RANGE

ya
ONE ****ING THING, its not everything that exists on Runeterra vs us. if you unleashed brand and others that they have unlocked if would literally just mean the destruction of all of us including Runeterrans
. also yes they have magic and **** but we can just nuke the hell out of them. The immortals may survive but regardless the actual war would be over, we would win. oh we might sustain heavy losses but we prolly have 300 times the amount of people they do.

If runeterra had no magic....we would win, unfortunately magic would probably be the greatest threat to our somewhat superior technology (but when tiny guys with huge brains can create mini turrets that fire fireballs withing a second...that's debatable. Earth also doesn't have autonomous robots.)

Uhm, first of all, if we're saying this isn't an all out, last ditch war thing, then we wouldn't just nuke everything either. Secondly, the Institute can freeze TIME. Incoming projectiles freeze. Period. Even the human champions are worth 100 ordinary men. Augmented by Nexus magic and reinforced by a literal endless stream of uninhibited minion constructs, the Institute alone would be a global threat. All of Runeterra??? We have numbers, but they have access to power we can only dream of now.

The summoners can control the Chaotic Champions through their magic, it would basically be keeping them on shackles until they're needed. Unleashing them. Reshackling them. So they would unleash in an all out war, and nukes probably wouldn't mean anything given even the minimal amount of powers and augments we've seen.

Look. Earth isn't going to win in an all out war against Runeterra. And even if we have more people...

You take five guys and give them an endless supply of ammo and five machine guns, numbers aren't going to mean ****. Now replace machine guns and ammo with incomprehensible magical powers that we don't know the extent of... yeah.

The only way Earth would have a chance at winning is if the Summoners declared both they and the Institute of War were neutral parties. This would mean that Runeterra couldn't unleash beings like Cho'Gath, Brand, Nocturne, etc.

But that just means we'd have a -chance-.

The champions we would be facing (if they all joined the war effort):

Ahri
Akali
Alistar
Amumu

Ashe
Blitzcrank

Warwick
Wukong
Xerath
Xin Zhao
Ziggs
Zilean

Those are -all- the champions without restrictions placed on them.

Brand
Cho'Gath
Fiddlesticks
Nocturne
Renekton

Are the five who are basically imprisoned in the Institute of War, and I only -think- Renekton is imprisoned there.

Even without them we have an extremely frightening force to deal with.

This doesn't even go on to mention the various kingdoms and city-states that would be dealt with.

Demacia and Noxus are both militant states and wouldn't flinch at the prospect of drafting their citizens into an army of conscripts, something that many countries on Earth are going to be hesitant to do - and even then it's likely going to be less numbers for drafting from Earth than Runeterra as both Demacia and Noxus glorify war to even higher extents than America.

Zaun provides chemical warfare we can't even begin to comprehend. Mustard gas? How about a chemical that not even -divine magic- can cure? That's what Warwick and Singed designed in Ionia. Oh, and they don't have to adhere to the Geneva Convention for the Rules of War, meaning they'll readily use this again. They can also churn out super soldiers if Mundo allows his formula to be synthesized and wide-spread. Think of armies of Mundos marching against our military. Also, Hextech weaponry and augments.

Piltover and its range of sciences and studies - Heimerdinger and Viktor together are examples of the extremes of the technology the Runeterrans can bring to the front. Heimerdinger has created a fully combat capable -steampowered- robot. We can't match that. Viktor has found a way to basically replace his organic parts with machine parts, even necessary organs and transplants that we couldn't manage in our day and age. This, once again, could mean that we'd be facing not just one but multiple Viktors, similar to the multiple Mundos.

Freljord has more humans and non-humans like Ashe, Tryndamere, Olaf and Sejuani - basically an army that could successfully invade Russia - which, if you know your history, is a big deal.

Etc. etc.

We'd have our hands full with 94 champions that have supernatural and superhuman abilities. Given that at least two of those champions can basically create more versions of themselves quite easily that goes from 94 champions to 94 champions and possibly multiple companies of superhumans. Then you'd have the militaries of the various states and kingdoms to deal with and you have a force that we couldn't stop.

Even with nukes.

Zilean could probably use his time magic to reverse the nuke back to its launch pad, or even revert it to the point it was just a bunch of parts.

Xerath could blast them out of the sky, since he's effectively a mobile AA gun... in fact, all the mages could knock them out of the air before they landed. And there are a hell of a lot of mages in Runeterra.

We don't have an effective counter for magic - all of our technology is bound by the realm of physics, which magic is not under the sway of. If there was something that would counter magic on earth - which given what magic on Runeterra can do there really isn't - then we might have a more even fight on our hands.

But there isn't, as far as we know, so we're going to lose this one.
