I'd have to say, i disapprove of the Ionian Boots because of the fact, Renekton is very weak to CC's, so a merc treads will save him most of the time, and if you want cool down then brutalizer would fix that up for you easy, also adding damage to your build. Other then those, i like the build and can see it as being one thats very effective in game.

All 9 games I've used Ionian Boots to get his CDR up really quick (27% CDR ~15 minutes into the game is no joke with Renekton). But I will definitely give Brutalizer a try =)

I find that with A Simple spirit visage and black cleaver combo, if you make sure to use W, before Q (preferable while enraged) you can deal some serious damage with both the abilities with a nice health return. aside from these I personally think the rest of the build is entirely situational building more damage based on how little CC the opponent has seemed to do the trick for me (they only hurt you if they can hold onto you, similar to kassadin)

I really wish they wouldn't bait and switch post spotlight. I know he was OP or looked OP etc from the spotlight could they atleast state what changes were implemented when he went live? Example being how in the spotlight video he gains 10 fury per attack while now he only gains 5. Its like how swain was differed from his spotlight video without any notice.

I kind of regret buying Rene now.

you guys need to focus on armor pen. Brutalizer, Last whisper + armor pen runes and mastery really get you going on dmg. Starting out I go just the same as everyone else Doran Sheild, CD boots, Brut or spirit visage depending on how i'm laning, then last whisper, or Guardian Angel. Then i finish out yumu ghostblade and then work on Frozen Mallet. Beefy + dmg. also spirit visage increases your healing ability to 35% with furious Q attack, 30% without, its a must get item!

I like the build choice but as for the Gaurdian Angel, i can't really take that item serriously. Chances are, if they can kill you as it is, what's going to stop them from killing you again when you revive? What makes it even worse is that, if they do kill you, you've now got an item thats vaugely useless besides the bonus stats, but even those could be made up with other item combos.

I mostly like it for the resists and armor, but you're right those can be gotten from other items. However one thing I've noticed is his ability to escape ganks, W,E,R abilities are all useful for escaping also Q helps with a on the run healing if your enemy is close by. If they do get me Guardian Angel gives me that extra chance to get away again. But like i said I mostly like it for the MR and AR there are other items you could get instead can't think of them but I'm sure they are there.

I see alot of people talking about black cleaver and how it applies 3 stack with a furious W attack might be worth looking into instead of frozen mallet.

I try to go:

1/21/8

Ghost + Exhaust

Doran's Shield -> Ionian Boots -> HoG -> Brutalizer -> Negatron Cloak -> Chain mail -> Black Cleaver -> Trinity Force

Then finish up the defensive items, usually Ghost Blade, Randuin's, and FoN. This gives him great chasing power while allowing him to inflict true damage on any target with under with under 70 Armor.

TForce just makes him do crazy good damage on people rather quickly due to procs, while also keeping them in range for chasing from the slows.
