They left him alone for a while because they knew he was OP and a lot of people complained about him. So they waited for a while after he was nerfed hard, then released him so there would be less complaints.

for the simple reason of balance...

i mean think about it, lets say udyr wasn't free the week he was released that means only a few who either had extra IP and or bought him with RP would have played him, and thus

only a small portion of the community would have been able to give feed back on him...

cause i mean lets face it only reason udyr was even brought up was because he was free the week he was released and a ton of players played him and gave the feedback on him,

but, would be unfair to the players who saved up or bought the players with rp. thats why they have the bundles to buy the champ if you made the champs free on release who whould buy it?

personally i think this "free champion preview" is a jip, people should have to earn their characters. seperates the boys from the men

What a great idea... Lets use a champ that I hate to randomly buy a new champion. What if he plays out even worse? Now I can play the champ I hate, or the one that I worked hard to hate even more.

For example, Nocturne. I was drawn in by his abilities and saved up to buy him. Only then did I realize I suck at assassins, DPS melee carries, and junglers. Nocturne is all these rolled into a neat little package, and my games failed for it. Now I have resolved to wait the two weeks until that champ is free. No Lee Sin for me... Not now anyway.

That being said, where the hell is Cassiopeia? She had one free week, and most people know she is difficult to use. The 6300 price tag keeps away many of the people who might buy her unless they know how she plays out. I would love to play her but I missed her free week and the cost is too much if I find out I fail at her.

Im loving the new champion rotation. Even though i already own most them. Its always nice going up against noob twitchs. haha
