What would be the most recent guide for Annie?

I like to be able to kill people with 3/4-1/2 HP fairly easily (this is with tib stun) but still be able to survive from a mis-click/lag.

I usually get a RoA, then Haunting Guise, then either a Rylai's if I'm getting ganked a lot, or a Mejai if I'm doing well.

The best one I've seen. It's outdated because it includes Zhonyas ring, but you can replace that with hourglass/hat. Brilliance elixers are still amazing, offering 10% cd and a decent chunk of AP for a very low price.

The problem with your build is too much HP, too little AP.

I've heard that Annie scales horribly with AP, so I usually get either Sorc shoes (if they have little magic resist) or Void Staff (if they have lots of magic resist).

Not horribly, just not as well as other casters. I tend to go for a little AP first (Tome -> Mejai if doing well, then work up to RoA), but each of my games are a little different depending on amount of gold I have and the current game condition. Sorc's boots are usually a good choice.

If you find yourself getting killed a lot after nuking, try keeping your allies close before you nuke, but if that doesn't work, try putting a point in Shield. Also, don't chase enemies down if you're low on health + you don't have your whole team backing you up.

1. sapphire crystal + 2 pots
2. boots + catalyst
3. sorc boots + blasting wand or finish roa
4. finish item you didn't get + haunting guise pieces (i prefer ruby crystal)
5. finish haunting guise

This start will take advantage of Annie's biggest strength, her ability to crush most champions early game. Once you have these pieces in place, you have options, think like a tank at this point:

Are they building to counter you? Get your void staff, sell sorc shoes, and get merc treads. Then grab the hourglass and abyssal scepter. You are now a very tanky, can initiate, and will deal decent damage.

Are you crushing and showing no signs of stopping? Get rylai's fast, then build your hat and continue crushing. Careful, you're public enemy number one.

Are you doing just ok? Rylai's will give you some added utility and survivability, you may want to switch out your sorc shoes for boots of swiftness and get an aura item such as aegis, then continue building on your AP.

I use a rune and mastery set built more to my playstyle. mpen marks, mp5/lvl seals, MR/lvl glyphs, and move speed quints combined with a 9/21/0 (strength of spirit, not dodge) mastery setup. My summoner spells are unimproved ignite and flash.

For skilling order, I go Q, W, W, Q, W, R, E then prioritize R - W - Q - E .

Annie is a one trick pony and everyone knows it. Don't bother waiting for your stun to harass. Use your autoattacks to poke at them while you farm with Q. Once in a while, just jump in there and combo them unexpectedly, I promise you they will run. Many times, your stun will come up as you're comboing, flash after them, drop your bear on their head and net your kill.

Thanks for the help. Now, I still haven't gotten to lvl 20 yet, so should I save up for tier 3 runes?

Yes, Tier 2 ones are horrible for their price.

I personally get a RoA and a Veil. Keeps me in the fight, so I can stun them more. ^^ And squishies die to a single volley, AP or not.

Ive seen people buy 5 tier 1 runes to make 1 tier 2 rune, saying it saves money. Worth it?

The rune you get is random, and it's not worth trading in until you've got your tier 3 runes to take their slots. Even then, the runes you get might be junk, so you could wind up simply trading those as well. I've got a couple random tier 3 runes I don't even use, simply because they're leftovers from my tier 1 to tier 3 exchange.

Just fill out your rune book with tier 1 runes for now. This will help give you a feel for what runes work for you. Once you know what you want to use and are level 20, buy up your tier 3 runes. Good general tier 3 runes to buy are mpen and armor pen marks, dodge and m5/lvl seals, mr/lvl, flat CDR and mp5/lvl glpyhs, and health quints.

I'm getting all flat Mpen marks, hp quints, and either CDR or AP glyphs/seals (not sure if I want to spammore, or burst more. probably switch depending on if I'm using rylai's or not)
