same problem. I played a game at about 1pm pst, closed client, tried to play another game at 2:20pm pst, failure. Sits at retrieving version information, then eventually closes with no error message.

Do we have a fix for this or any sort of confirmation from LoL that they know this is happening? happened to me too now i cant play

I am, as well getting the error ending with 404.

I dont know what that means pertaining to LOL or its client log, but for normal HTTP, that error usually indicates that your browser tried to look where you told it but there was nothing there. Perhaps their patch and/or login servers are out of commission right now but their game servers are not?

Same problem, my brother logged in fine on his computer but I can't on my own desktop. 404 error.
