OK, from the masses - would you approve of a Poppy ADC? Every time I pick her to run bot, I get a lot of groans or even D/C's because people think it is the dumbest thing because she is not ranged.

But hear me out.

I know she isn't ranged. because of that, you NEED a good support. She absolutely blows up enemy ADC's, and as long as you're careful early game, it gets ridiculous soon. The problem, of course, is CS. If you have a stunning/scary support with you though, they should be able to protect you. Once you get to 6, or you get sheen, you will be able to kill any other ADC in the game quite handily (even better if you're with a good blitz or voli).

I';m still trying it out, because I have gone 24-0 with Poppy bot, but also 5-5 or some other middling ratio. I see how people get pissed, but I also think a lot of it is unwarranted. I've converted a lot of people with my play, but I think with Poppy it really depends on how good your support is moreso than other champs.

do it. I have seen games with Darius AD and it works wonders. Just try it out. Usually when we go against the meta and play like a darius ADC we don't have a standard support, we usually just get another damage dealer like Xin or Garen who can bully people out of lanes so people will stay back and you are free to get your CS. 2 damage deals > adc and support if they just focus the adc. then the support can't do anything without the adc and you just landed yourself a double kill.

I am really not a fan of meta, I think it really depends on how you and your team wants the game to go. I've played against 2 bot adc from other team while my team goes 2 mid. That being said, if your team decide on not following meta, they better know what they are doing lol

It's not viable.

An adc's job is to do continuous auto attack damage during a teamfight and take as little damage as possible. ADC poppy would always be in the middle of fights and get blown up once her ult wore off.

Is she a great anti-carry? Absolutely. But I'd want to have her taking their carry out while also having a carry of our own to do the sustained damage.

Be sure your team is on-board with it - if they're not, just use the standard meta. If the rest of your team wants you to play one role, or one role a certain way, but you refuse, that's refusing to cooperate with team, which is a reportable offense (and can probably get you banned, at least temporarily, if you do it enough).

Not playing the meta isn't against the rules: not playing the meta despite the rest of your team wanting you to is.

I would agree that against competent opponents it won't work too well, though. Once her ult is done she's in the middle of the enemy team, and she's either built for damage, which leaves her squishy, or for durability, which means she doesn't do as much damage.

And farming is of course miserable for her.

If you do it in ranked, I'll play the game just to report you. Any good ADC will eat you alive before you can get level 6.

You wouldnt get any farm. Your 1 support CANNOT PROTECT YOU from their support AND their ranged ADC who is poking at you.
If they can, then youve won anyways.

As mentioned, ADCs deal sustained damage and ADC Poppy is basically like playing a Tryndamere as an ADC...except with an even worse laning phase.
