Olivia, The Shield Maiden

Rational: This game needs more true tanks. Characters who are best built as a defender and there has never been one that was female... until now.

Story Basics: Olivia has always had a strong sense of loyalty, demonstrated many times as a child with her friend Caitlyn playing imaginary detective. While Caitlyn went on to protect the town of Piltover from criminals and thieves, Olivia the shyer of the two, was left in the dust. Olivia became the apprentice of Caitlyn's mother, the creator of Caitlyn's marvelous gun. Olivia studied tirelessly to try and be of assistance to Caitlyn and she has finally found a way to do it. Her shields are the work of a master engineer, complemented even by the famous Professor Heimerdinger. These shields on her arms as if they had grown there, their intricacies and secrets known only by Olivia. After their creation Olivia decided that she would finally be able to stand beside her friend. She has come to the League both to protect others, represent Piltover and to prove to herself that the purest form of courage is to stick beside her teammates to the bitter end.

-It seems that Olivia has finally come out of her shell... sort of- “Caitlyn, the Sheriff of Piltover”


Range: Melee
Primary Role: Tank
Secondary Role: Jungler
Tertiary Role: Fighter

(Passive) Augment – Olivia's shields are compatible with almost anything, as a result Olivia gains 10 armor per item she is holding (stackable items count as one).

[Q]: Shield Sweep – Olivia spins around dealing damage and slowing enemies. Her shields extend on wires to increase her range.
Cooldown – 12/10/8/6/4 sec
Mana Cost – 60/70/80/90/100
Range – 400
Olivia spins around extending her shields dealing 60/80/120/160/200 (+50% Armor) damage to all enemies around her and slowing their attack speed by 30% for 2 sec.

[W]: Dauntless Defense – Olivia's shields fold out becoming larger and spark with electricity which bursts at the end of the duration.
Cooldown – 10 sec
Mana Cost – 90
Range – 250
Passive: Olivia gains 10/20/30/40/50 magic resistance
Active: Olivia's shields charge themselves with electricity to reduce damage that Olivia takes by 10/12/14/16/18% (+1% per 50 Magic resist) and at the end of the duration deals 60/80/100/120/140 (+70% Ability Power) magic damage to all targets around her. Lasts for 6 sec.

[E]: Piltover Punisher – Olivia launches her shields in a straight line. The shield extends upon a wire till it reaches a target then retracts back to Olivia.
Cooldown – 12/11/10/9/8 sec
Mana Cost – 110
Range – 700
Olivia fires one of her shields straight forward dealing damage to the first target it touches stunning them for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 sec and dealing 60/80/100/120/140(+80% attack power).

[R]: Implement – Glyphs on Olivia's shields glow when stored with an item and becomes very large when discharging.
Cooldown of active – 40 sec
Mana Cost – 100/150/200
Range – self
Passive: Olivia's shields can store an additional item. Since this item is hard to wield its base stats are reduced by 50%. (This item's activated effects can not be activated).
Active: Olivia uses the item to charge her shield to create a shield for 10sec that prevents the next 300/500/700 damage (+100% Armor or +100% Magic Resistance, whichever is greatest). This ability's passive does not apply when this skill is on cooldown.

Explanation: Olivia's shields are her pride and joy and as such they play an integral role in her skill set. All her abilities focus on making her shields better. Her rational is that shields as a weapon are not naturally long range so she would feel safer in the close quarters of the jungle popping out to help a friend in need. She will work well as a jungler due to mainly her passive. The extra armor will help her survivability. Her [W] will help her farm jungle creeps while also keeping her health up, while her [E] can be a ganking tool if aimed right. Her [Q] is meant for reducing damage against melee DPS and helps with her farming. Her [R] helps her passive while protecting her from dying.

You didn't read the main post did you? It HAS TO BE the concept I presented. I need a standard for which to grade. It MUST be Qurego'mas and it MUST have his basic outline of a backstory and it MUST be a melee support caster. You can make minor changes to his backstory or greatly expand it, but it has to keep the same basic theme and motif.

Just send it again and I'll count it as your second entry. Make sure to proof read your work this time. Remember though that you have time to enter, the contest is going on for a WHOLE MONTH so take your time and make it worth my time.

I have an offensive support Champion who's skillset I think would fit this well with some retooling. Is this frowned upon or do you mind us reusing some of our own work?

Passive - Tyrant's Vexation
Qurego temper builds every-time he is damaged in combat, giving him a Vex stack every-time.

Once Qurego obtains 8 / 8 / 7 / 6 / 6 stacks, he lets out a random Psionic scream buffing random allied champions around him in an area or debuffing random enemy champions in an area. Buffs/Debuffs last 6 seconds and can stack.
Buffs/Debuffs include:

Agitated State - Increases Random Allie(s) Attack Damage or Ability Power by 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 (Can affect minions or champions.)
Fearful Intent - Increases Random Allie(s) Magic Resistance or Armor by 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 (Can affect minions or champions.)
Paranoid Thoughts - Decreases Random Enemie(s) Attack Damage by 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 (Can affect minions or champions.)
Penetrating Terror - Decreases Random Enemie(s) Armor or Magic Resistance by 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 (Can affect minions or champions.)

Range - 500 (AoE)

Q - Cerebral Prism

Qurego psychic energy allows him to keep a sustainably aura of protection around him that can be broken to damage enemies.

Qurego passively has a shield of energy around him that has 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 ( + .4 Scaling with AP) Health that can be unleashed to do 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 / 150 ( + .3 Scaling with AP) Spell Damage.
When the shield is broken involuntarily, it takes 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 / 7 seconds (Is not effected by cooldown reduction) to recharge. When the spell is cast, the passive is put on cooldown until the spell recharges.

Cooldown - 20 / 18 / 16 / 14 / 12s
Mana Cost - 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 / 100
Cast Range - 500 (AoE)

W - Void Frenzy

Qurego sends out terrifying beams of psionic energy that lashes onto allied champions both boosting and weakening their attributes.


Increases the movement speed of allied champions by 10% / 13 % / 16 % / 18 % / 20 % and giving them Crown Control reduction of 3 % / 6 % / 9 % / 12 % / 15 % . It has an initial mana cost and drains mana every second that it is active. The spell a 4 second delay before it can be turned off.

Cooldown - 16 / 14 / 12 / 10 / 8s
Initial Mana Cost - 50 / 50 / 50 / 50 / 50
Mana cost - 10 / 12 / 14 / 16 / 18 per second.
Cast Range - 600 (AOE)

E - Unstable Void Discharge

Qurego unstable molecules from being the void cause him to surge with unstable void energy causing small amounts of electric discharges around him, damaging enemies. Qurego is also able to release the charges to slow surrounding enemies.

Passive - Qurego randomly sparks the area around him every 8/7/6/5/4 seconds damaging enemies hit by the blast for 20 / 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 ( + . 3 Scaling with AP) Spell damage (Damage is split if hitting multiply enemies) The blast is the 9/10th the size of Karthus Q.

Active - Qurego explodes slowing enemies around him a medium area for 13 % / 16 % / 19 % / 21 % / 23% and the passive is put on cooldown until the spell can be cast again.

Cooldown - 16 / 14 / 12 / 10 / 8s
Mana cost - 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 90
Cast Range - 500 (AOE)
Passive Spell Damage Range - 50

R - Psionic Bubble

Qurego charges the air matter around him with void energy, solidifying a bubble of protoplasmic goo around him. Enemies who enter the bubble are trapped and are not allowed to leave until the spell wears off. Enemies trying to escape will be dealt damage if they touch the wall of the bubble and are dragged along inside but Qurego movement is lowered in the process. Allied Champions are allowed to move freely.

Qurego cast a bubble around him that last 6 / 8 / 10 that traps enemies who enters it and drags them where every Qurego moves. Enemies who touch the wall are dealt 50 / 100 / 150 ( + .5 AP Scaling) every 2 seconds they are touching the wall and are knocked back slightly (Allied Champions unaffected). While in this state Qurego movement speed is cut in 2/3.

Cooldown - 120 / 100 / 80s
Mana cost - 100 / 130 / 160
Cast Range - 650 / 750 / 850
