The lack of logic in this thread is astounding. I cannot believe how much support the OP has. If you want a champion so bad, then spend some money and buy it like Riot wants you to, I don't see why yelling at a business for trying to make money is logical. I hope Riot DOESN'T stop what they've been doing.

It's stuff like this that makes a business start to fail.

1. $_$ <- Riot

2. > <- Community

3. DoTA2

4. ????????

5. DoTA2 profit

For one, I have nothing against a business making money..and aiming for profits. That is the company's ventured interest. What is annoying however, that once you buy RP to pick up a champion or skin, you will be left with an uneven amount of RP (which translates to - my hard earned money) sitting there right in front of my eyes as a fixed deposit, cannot withdraw, cannot spend, does not earn interest from an user's point of view. And from RIOT's point of view, money in their banks for which they don't have to provide any goods or service for.

Its like I open a car dealership and make a rule, you can only purchase cars from my shop when you buy Shadow Points. The cars cost 8750 Shadow Points. The least amount of Shadow Points you can buy is 10,000, and I do not sell anything in my shop which costs less than 8750 Shadow Points.

I must agree, that it is a flawed consumer logic for a successful business plan.

There's 40 hours of work a week, and hanging out with friends on weekends.

indeed, and thats why 975 dont hurt... grinding 6300 does... really if you cant manage to get 975 faster than 6300 its time to grind some RL

What's that? Hashing out new heroes every 1.5 weeks? They only do that because people like you want more and more. Meanwhile, the game suffers from a lack of balance.

If a company does not listen to its customers, then the company will eventually cease to exist. Look at any successful company, and what do they do? They listen to their customers. Judging from this thread people are unhappy, but don't sit there and say it's not important for people to have their voice heard.

People seem to really be missing the point. It has less to do with "I want to own every champion" and more to do with the promise Riot made to actually release across all the price points so that beginners could unlock a good portion of the champions easily. That promise was broken, as was the initial claim that more interesting / difficult champions reach higher prices. Now we have simple champions like Garen and Trundle sitting at 3150 and 4800, respectively, and other simple champions like Miss Fortune sitting way up at 6300.

Out of all the recent releases, the only one I think has been interesting enough to deserve the 6k price point was Lee Sin for being genuinely complex, difficult, and rewarding.

ashe 450, ryze 450, nunu 450, tf 1350, morg 1350, zil 1350, janna 1350, eve 1350, singed 1350, amumu 1350, trist 1350/free

as you can see, there are many very good champs, new players can unlock easily... they also inreased the IP gain in the first 10 level of a summoner

Sadly those are almost all release champions (or maybe all of them are). As Riot keeps adding on more and more champions, that becomes an even smaller and smaller portion of the whole champion pool. As much variety as there already is in that group, there could be more.
