What would it take to be a part of the champion design/game mechanics creation team?
1) What are the most desired personality traits? 2) What type of college major would fit in best? 3) How can I go about making the appropriate impression/connections? (should I be posting on the champion concept forums with my own designs? should I be playing games w/rioters? Is it all about interviews/resume and application?) --------------essentially, how important are each of those in getting a job w/riot? 4) Is champion design/creation/implementation something that even offers an internship level position? 5) (if not---or even if so...) Is there another team that is similar enough that I could become a part of the champion design team if I got an internship with them at first? 6) do I have to be a good artist? 7) OR do I need a more fundamental understanding of game mechanics and mathematics (I mean I'm sure both being artistic and analytic/mathematical are important but could I theoretically become a part of the champion design team even if I couldn't draw the concepts I created because I'm not a particularly artistic person?) 8) Also, does Riot really pay attention to the champion concepts forum and draw any inspiration from there? Or is it more just somewhere to group similar minded community members? ------------I don't see that many actual Riot red posts there so I feel like its part of the latter... but then again there was a champion concept named Yorick posted in that forum.... EDIT: I feel like I should say that your response to this message won't dictate my college career or anything... feel free to be honest. (like I wouldn't switch from a CS major to an International Diplomacy major just because you said it would give me some sort of edge at riot... I am just curious about what kind of person would fit in well with that job). |
