To be honest... for times you can't be sure you'll have the time, look into a single player game that you can pause when needed.

As a parent, you should be putting your child(ren) first, which it looks like you are; but that means you'll have to make sacrifices. If it means you can't play multi-player games as frequently because your schedule is too unpredictable, that's the price you pay for the miracle that you have.

Not even close to ineffective. Before the leaverbuster system was implemented, you had people leaving 10x or more games, and there were times players would have streaks of 10-20 games with at least one leaver in them. While it may catch a few people on the edge cases, by far it's a solution that the community stands behind as a whole.

People still leave all the time. And less people leaving doesn't necessarily equate to better game play. By that logic, Why not just ban everyone? Because then noone can leave. That line of thinking doesn't make sense. I am not saying that there is no need for the system. I just think it's too harsh. So harsh that players like myself might not be able to play at all.

It's kind of like saying basketball would be a better game if only professional NBA players can play and noone else. While they might have competitive games in the NBA, what about everyone else that misses out?

Maybe it might be good if they had a mode where people can play a "game" for "fun" instead of everyone thinking they are professional gamers.

There is such a game and it's called custom. Set aside some time to find a few people you like gaming with, then make a custom game. The other thing is that the games against the bots tend to go faster, so play of few of those until you can for sure dedicate the time.

As others have said you won't find much sympathy from other players about leaving because playing this type of game and having a person go afk, or leave, just makes the 45 minutes the others play a waste as a lot of times it can be game breaking.

I'm sorry... but you don't sound like you're married or have children for that matter. I expect adults to be responsible at the very least.

I'm a teenager, and though this gives me this whole misconception that "teenagers are always free to do whatever they want to do", I actually do study even on summer vacation because I want to have a good life.

Tell me, if a teenager can handle the responsibilities of playing a game, why couldn't you, as a self-reliant and supposedly responsible adult do the same?

Don't get on the forums, take care of your kid(s). Only someone 12 or younger would have the galls to complain about a game online. If you don't like, you always have the option of leaving the game entirely. If you like, you stay and play. It's quite obvious to me, and perhaps the others, that you don't like the game. So please, do us, your child(ren), and your wife a favor and just leave the game and have fun with your family.

I'm not trying to "troll" or anything like that. But what you're doing is just making excuses. And if I offended (which is probably the case) you, I do apologize.

People don't care about emergencies or whatever, they're here to play a game, and if you're leaving/afking it's ruining the fun of those who played with you. I believe the least you can do is play when you're fully available ( children at school, sleeping etc ), if you leave like a game out of 100, because emergencies aren't supposed to happen every days, you wont get banned. The more game you play, the lest likely you'll get banned for leaving.

Just play after you put your kids to bed (that's what I do).

Or before they wake up in the morning if you're an early riser.

But basically what mots people have already said. If you can't set aside the time required to play, don't. And if you're not sure whether or not you can, play a custom game where there is no penalty for leaving.

Those 9 other people in your game don't care that an emergency came up. They want to play a fair and balanced game. When you leave, you remove that enjoyment from them.

I think this person, being stuck with his broken record of "its too harsh a penalty, its too harsh a penalty" is refusing to understand that each game he leaves ruins the games of 9 other people, who may also be parents of children that have taken a great deal of effort to fit in the time for a game in their daily schedule, and he is thus doing people like himself (or even busier) a disservice by leaving in the middle of the game.

Also, like people here already said, if you're really a responsible, mature adult, then buck up and deal with it. Either quit if you don't like it, or adapt if you do. Coming here to complain solves nothing. There have been 50 people like you before and there will be 50 people like you again, who think its okay to leave games and that they're the only ones who have to deal with real life. But the vast majority of 50,000 people will always tell you to pipe down and deal with it, because we've seen how the game was like without Leaver Buster and Tribunal, and we don't want a re-run of it. Deal with your time, or don't play.

Already said, that's exactly what I do. Baby woke up 2 nights in a row and I get banned. I love all the people saying that I am the one that's irresponsible. Like somehow putting gaming over real life is the "responsible" thing. I've come to the conclusion that people are just so addicted they become delusional.
