League of Legends Fan Celebration at PAX East 2011 Posted by Tamat on Thu, 2011-03-24 14:34

Summoners!

On Saturday, March 12th, summoners from all walks of life came together at PAX East to celebrate an amazing weekend with one another, and members of the Riot Games team. The celebration was fierce and full of libations, laughter, Cosplay, and of course music from the Songs of the Summoned contest as performed by members of the community.

It’s hard to sum up with words the awesome of this event, and while the laws of physics prevent us providing a fun powered time machine to take you back individually, we have the next best thing: a video!

Costume Chaos Tournament Results are In! Posted by Tamat on Sun, 2011-03-13 13:27

Summoners!

The Alienware Arena Costume Chaos Tournament has come to a close! There was a little drama, a little excitement, and more than a little comedy. We saw some great players put on a great showing dressed in some epic costumes. And we presented them with a few equally epically sized paysafe cards.

In the end, of course, the tournament could only have one winner, so congratulations to team Triple Kill for proving that in League of Legends, being dressed to kill really does matter. But during this time we also crowned the winner of our Cosplay Contest, so further congratulations are in order for Succulent Morgana, for being the snappiest dresser in the bunch!

We want to thank all those handsome and beautiful summoners who dressed up to make being a champion of the League look good to everyone out there on the floor at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. While only a few of you could bring home the big bucks, we were positively thrilled to get a look at all your fantastic costumes. Keep looking sharp!

Congratulations again to team Triple Kill, and the amazing Succulent Morgana for bringing home the grand prizes at the Costume Chaos Tournament and the Cosplay Contest -- and looking positively smashing while they did it!

Riot Games is the Life of the Party! Posted by Tamat on Sun, 2011-03-13 09:14

Here at Riot Games we work hard, and, occasionally, we play hard, too. Here at PAX East, we took a bit of time out of our busy exhibition schedule to host a shindig down at the Revolution Rock Bar. There, we invited a few hundred summoners to come hang out and share a Singed’s Insanity Potion or a Graggy Ice with us. All while singing songs from the Songs of the Summoned contest made possible by Heimerdinger's Karaoke machine.

It was an exciting evening, and we’d like to thank everyone who came out! If you weren’t able to join us, we took some pictures of our Saturday at PAX. Click the image below for a look at the Needlessly Large Paysafe tournament, and our party where summoners at PAX East sang their heart out, Karaoke style!
