The Alienware Arena Costume Chaos Tournament has come to a close! There was a little drama, a little excitement, and more than a little comedy. We saw some great players put on a great showing dressed in some epic costumes. And we presented them with a few equally epically sized paysafe cards.
In the end, of course, the tournament could only have one winner, so congratulations to team Triple Kill for proving that in League of Legends, being dressed to kill really does matter. But during this time we also crowned the winner of our Cosplay Contest, so further congratulations are in order for Succulent Morgana, for being the snappiest dresser in the bunch!
We want to thank all those handsome and beautiful summoners who dressed up to make being a champion of the League look good to everyone out there on the floor at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. While only a few of you could bring home the big bucks, we were positively thrilled to get a look at all your fantastic costumes. Keep looking sharp!
Congratulations again to team Triple Kill, and the amazing Succulent Morgana for bringing home the grand prizes at the Costume Chaos Tournament and the Cosplay Contest -- and looking positively smashing while they did it!

Here at Riot Games we work hard, and, occasionally, we play hard, too. Here at PAX East, we took a bit of time out of our busy exhibition schedule to host a shindig down at the Revolution Rock Bar. There, we invited a few hundred summoners to come hang out and share a Singed’s Insanity Potion or a Graggy Ice with us. All while singing songs from the Songs of the Summoned contest made possible by Heimerdinger's Karaoke machine.
It was an exciting evening, and we’d like to thank everyone who came out! If you weren’t able to join us, we took some pictures of our Saturday at PAX. Click the image below for a look at the Needlessly Large Paysafe tournament, and our party where summoners at PAX East sang their heart out, Karaoke style!
Here at PAX East, everyone’s Eternal Nightmare is the talk of the town. We just completed our demonstration of Nocturne and his groundbreaking new Near Sighted mechanic.
Nocturne is an assassin type character who functions very differently than the traditional archetypes. Unlike a traditional stealth character such as Twitch who becomes personally invisible, or a character such as Nidalee who has special synergy with the brush, Nocturne’s ultimate ability afflicts the entire enemy team with a specialized debuff. This ultimate – dubbed Paranoia – removes the player’s shared vision with allied units, leaving them blind to anything beyond the sight range of their own champion. In this way, Nocturne is able to sow confusion amongst the enemy team, striking quickly and taking down enemy champions while their allies are blind to their need for assistance.
We’ve just arrived here at the Boston Convention and Exhibition center to set up shop for all the epic festivities that we’ve got planned for you all here at PAX East. Alongside our partners Alienware and PaySafe Card, we’ve been hard at work doing a fair bit of unpacking and at least a little bit of light construction. After all, if we don’t unpack all these Nocturne posters, who will?
This is a public service announcement to remind all of you that we will be in attendance at PAX East this year. If you’re making vacation plans, and you’d like pay a visit to historic New England, why not stop by and pay us a visit over at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center?
Riot Games will be exhibiting League of Legends in conjunction with our partner Alienware at the Alienware Arena booth. You will also be able to find us in the Freeplay area, where we’ll be hosting a tournament, or be able to attend panels held by Riot Games employees RiotChris and Morello. Oh, and if the mood should strike you to cosplay one of our epic champions, here’s your early heads up that there will be a contest for that! Stay tuned for the full schedule as we draw closer to the event!
