Summoners!

Today marks the beginning of League of Legends Season One. In addition to being our single largest content release to date, Season One will mark the beginning of our new competitive ladder. Players who log in today will have the option to participate in Ranked Games for the first time, as well as get their first look at the latest champion of the League, Xin Zhao.

And if that isn't enough to get you motivated to dust off your summoner's robes, grab your rune book, and make a bee-line for the nearest Field of Justice, there's more. Over the next 24 hours, as players complete their first ranked games, you will begin to see names populate the competitive ladders. Players who finish the season at the top of the League of Legends ladder will have the opportunity to participate in the Season One finals tournament which boasts a total prize purse of $100,000.

Now, to help solidify this milestone for all of you, we've decided to commemorate the release of Season One with an epic new trailer. And if you haven't watched it yet, you should, because if we reach 1,000,000 views by 10 AM on July 21st we're going to give all of you a double-IP weekend.
